Property Tax Validator was a free tool for California homeowners sponsored by Home Tax Experts. This tool calculates property tax based on current (2024) data for homes in California valued from $100,000 to $9 million and purchased after January 1, 1989. Property Tax Validator uses a proprietary algorithm to quickly analyze comparable homes and determine the validity of a tax assessment.

Our proprietary algorithm provides a reasonably accurate assessment of the opinion of value for the current tax year. The data cannot consider unique location issues, for example, homes sited near freeways or with a view of the ocean. The evaluation information provided by the Property Tax Validator should be considered a starting point; it can help you, the California homeowner, to make a more informed decision about whether you can benefit from an appeal.
